PhytoSpherix™ nanoparticles have exceptional water retention properties. This property is highly desirable in moisturizing cosmetic preparations, e.g. lotions and creams. The water retention of PhytoSpherix™ even outperforms the current gold standard in moisturizers: hyaluronic acid. IR data shows that PhytoSpherix™ has more strongly bound water than hyaluronic acid.

Skin hydration tests using the corneometry technique show that PhytoSpherix™ hydrates the skin better than hyaluronic acid, and demonstrates a synergistic effect when used together (see Figure 2).

The skin feel of a cream containing PhytoSpherix™ was compared to the same cream containing hyaluronic acid in a blind study. Participants ranked the PhytoSherix™ cream higher than the hyaluronic acid cream in all evaluated qualities, and 100% of participants preferred the PhytoSpherix™ cream overall (see Figure 3).
